Is it possible to adopt an animal from the WWF for a one year period?

For my friends birthday, I was thinking of adopting an animal from the WWF in her name, so that she’ll get the certificates and letters etc, that come with it. I thought i’d make it so that the adoption will last a year. Is it possible to do that?
I’d really appreciate anyone’s help…
Thanks in advance :) x

In America throughout the 19th century, from time to time, amazing numbers of people would follow a preacher that, through "scientific" and studious research of the bible, would claim to considerable fanfare the end of time on some given day.

That the earth and all of its people would be annihilated on, say, June 15, 1852!

Well, it didn’t happen, I happily report.
